So this is what I think: PRO: -No dead pixels. -Large work area (I upgraded from a 17") -VERY bright, i had to turn down the brightness to 30%. -Easy menu navigation. -SUPER thin and light, it's amazing! -Nice clean design. -Energy efficient! :D BUT: -Poor speakers, but i use external ones anyway. -The stand is a bit thin, may wobble if you have a shaky desk. -1920x1080 supported but make sure you graphics card can do it, I had to tweak my GMA945 for it ot work. This usually works out well, but the problem with this setup is it is right beside my conventional 27" LCD. Uh. Bad idea. The other monitor just appears so LAME and FEEBLE next to this thing, I'm ashamed of it, and cannot imagine how I read or viewed anything on it. And it IS a decent LCD monitor. Or was a few days ago. This will spoil you. The images and text are so crisp and sharp, colors are pure and brilliant. This is like going from a CRT. A dirty one. (Same video card as the system next to it, so the systems had nothing to do with the comparison.) One does have to do a little groping to find the buttons on the right side (They are actually on the rear edge) to adjust the brightness and contrast..Which you will want to do unless you have set the system up on the beach, or unless you habitually wear welding goggles. The stand is a little stiff. It took me a while to discover that the angle is adjustable. When I first installed the stand, the screen was pointing at a downward angle, I tried to adjust it but it didn't budge and I though I was almost pushing hard enough to break something. About a week later, I tried adjusting it again and it finally moved and didn't break. Other than the stiff adjustment, it works great. For the price, this monitor is a good value and looks great. |
